Don't forget to read
and sign our guestbook
and check the BLOG
All 6 Police Chief candidates have websites
up and running. They are all listed on our Candidates
Page. We will be adding more candidates as they put up their websites.
We also have videos from the Feb. 26th Chiefs candidate forum hosted
on our BLOG and we have
links on our Candidates page.
ConchoInfo now has Forums
online. A bit different than the BLOG,
as it groups posts under discussion boards and topics. I have added
Water Issues, Public Safety, and Traffic & Transportation discussion
boards and Water Quality, Water Sources & Distribution, and Red
Light Cameras as starting topics. You can read anything in the forums,
but must register to reply. I will be adding some forum admins as
we go along as well. Enjoy.
The Texas Rangers reports are available
and have been making the rounds. We have been processing the files
to make them searchable and smaller than the originals. You can find
Report
1 and Report
2 here. Report 3 available in 4 parts, part
1, part
2, part
3, part
4.There may be some errors in the searchable text, but the pages
should display just like the original. There may be errors caused
by the OCR process, but hopefully I have caught them all. Comments
and analysis will be coming soon.
The charter amendments have been put on the ballot,
and we have started educating the voters. I have put together some
powerpoint slides
I use as part of a presentation. Please download the presentation
and pass it around. Don't forget to give me feedback in the guestbook
and keep up with the BLOG
where more detailed discussions are happening. Official information
from the City on the November election can be found here.
You can also mail the Charter Amendments for San Angelo, PO Box
5002, San Angelo, TX 76902 for more information or to contribute.
The School bond package is before the voters. There
is information at the SAISDinformation
site, and we have a lively discussion
going on over on our blog.
Get informed and vote. More background information can be found
on our School Issues page.
There is also a new education watchdog group being
formed: Sensible Taxation for Educational Excellence and Reform
or S.T.E.E.R. If you are interested in joining or more information
contact Jim Ryan or the webmaster.
The city council and
staff is working on a capital improvement plan. You can find some
background material on this project on our CIP
page.
There is a proposal to build a gasification
/ power plant to use trash and waste methane to produce electricity.
We are commenting on it on the BLOG,
and are starting a reference page here.
The public safety communications presentation
at the April 4th. city council meeting is generating a lot of interest.
I am adding an information page with detailed
information on subjects such as Project
25, LMR,
and Wireless
Networks.
The recount is finally over. We helped
with the recount and are posting details on our blog.
We aren't the only ones with problems. We are starting a page collecting
election problems, mostly voting machine problems here.
We are doing spring cleaning and reoganizing
on ConchoInfo.org. During this process some links and pages may not work.
If you see any problems please email
me or leave comments in the guestbook.
In light of the aftermath of Katrina,
and now Rita, I thought that some links on emergency management and
aid organizations would be appropriate. Find them here.
The city is updating their website.
Some of our links to their site will be broken for a while, but the
updates are long overdue. At least they are now current on the council
minutes. There are rough edges, especially when not viewing with IE,
but it is progress. Take a look here
and give the city constructive feedback.
Privacy
is a growing concern. There is, however, a lot of confusion surrounding
privacy. A good place to start is the study available here.
While you're there, look at some of their other studies.
